Saab 99 turbo rally car for your time.
So I'm doing my senior project (math major so think thesis but revolving around advanced stats) on Cape Cod Baseball League statistics and have a good understanding of most of the stats, but on several occasions I come across a player with a listed position of BO. Specifically when looking at offensive statistics.
I'd ask somewhere else, but I have yet to find a more helpful forum where people aren't out to show off that I'd like to be a part of. Any info is appreciated.

I've never heard of a position "BO" and I'm really into baseball. Could you give an example?

Do they play with AL or NL rules? If it's AL, maybe it stands for "batter only". Can you see any defensive stats for this player in games they're listed as "BO" for?

Link please.

That's a pretty good guess, though I've never seen that used before in place of DH. Unless there's some subtlety of definition I'm unaware of.

For the pic:

Hey. I just texted one of my sportswriter buddies. He thinks it's "batter only" like Saab guessed.

I wouldn't be aware either, haha. It was really just an educated shot in the dark.

Thanks, but I was looking for a link to your baseball stats.

Right? I just texted a sportswriter friend of mine and even he was like O.o before guessing "batter only," as well.

Batter only?
I've never seen that before, but I could imagine it's an unconventional way to list pinch-hitters that never field.

They do play with a DH but all of them I saw this summer (summer internship with the league) had a position listed on the roster. It looks like all of the players listed BO were two week contract players (they have a bunch of hopeful players for the first two weeks while the CWS is going on) so its possible that they only got to DH or pinch hit. Thanks for the help.
p.s. love the handle. My first car was a 99 saab 93 that my father handed down to me (along with its electrical issues) that I "totaled" in a fender bender at 200k mi.

looks like saabstory got it. They were two week players and had no defensive stats.

just a bunch of excel files for now. Point streak handles all the leagues stats that can be found somewhere from capecodbaseball.org i believe. might through up some graphics here later (read: a few weeks from now) if people are interested

Thanks! I'm a huge Saab nut/fangirl. My daily right now is an '06 9-5 SportCombi. The electrical systems have gotten better, but keep in mind that that's a relative term.

Ah, never seen that before.
